Montgomery County has no avenue for school funding with either Hogan or Jealous.

Jealous and any other democrat will ALWAYS support Baltimore over Montgomery County - its a no brainer. When you compare the poverty in Baltimore with the wealth in Montgomery County, no democratic politician would ever put more funding toward Montgomery County.

Hogan and other Republicans will also never give Montgomery County any funding. Its not just that Montgomery County doesn't vote for them, its that the county is always in their face and behaves arrogantly. MCPS threw an absolute fit about the school calendar change -which like or not - other higher performing districts like Frederick and Howard didn't seem to have a problem implementing. MCPS behaves as if they are better than the counties while they only rank in the middle. MCPS has made many enemies in Annapolis over the years on all sides.

You've missed the point entirely.  The question isn't who will give MCPS more funding - I agree that neither will.  The issue is that Jealous has indicated support for the Kirwan commission, which would strip MCPS of significant amounts of state funding, that the county would be required to make up (with significant effects county-wide, in schools and elsewhere), while County residents' state tax dollars would be used to support schools elsewhere in the state.

Jealous is a non-starter for me, for these reasons.  I'm more liberal than most, and I have no problem being used as an ATM for the rest of the state - but there are limits.  [/quote]

When I have mentioned this to others, they say things like "oh I dont think thats what the Kirwin commision is.  That cant be" .
