It is the Hispanic caucus and lobby that has Schumer and other Democrats by the you know what. They got themselves in this tight corner and don't know how to get out of it.

Yeah, but that makes them look awful. They are threatening to shut down the government unless kids whose families are illegal immigrants get what they want? (And that video of them dissing Pelosi and making obnoxious, entitled demands keeps playing in my heads.)

The entire issue of illegal immigration was largely why Trump won. Americans have more sympathy in this case - their being kids at the time - but making this such a priority at the cost to millions of Americans is exactly what people were fed up with: giving priority to illegal immigrants at the expense of law-abiding Americans.

If the government shuts down, it WILL be the Democrats to blame in the court of public opinion. They should never have tried to use the shutdown as a threat to get what they want for DACA kids.[/quote]
