The School board has said they want to eliminate or reduce split feeders. It would make sense to have as many of the Western ES at the same MS, which would help the split feeder situation. Carson is likely to be sending Coates, McNair, and Floris to Western. Either Crossfield or Fox Mill are likely to go to Western. The Oak Hill to Carson conversation is essentially turning Carson into the Western feeder.

The complication is that Carson is in the Oakton pyramid.

A lot of Oak Hill attends Carson through AAP, swapping the kids who are at Carson and not Western with the Oak Hill kids at Franklin makes a certain amount of sense. [/quote]

They spoke about a lot of similar things during the boundary review regarding other pyramids and almost none of them came to fruition.  I agree that Crossfield should go to Western due to proximity and already being at Carson but many ES’ across the county have long bus rides to include Navy and many parts of Waples Mill.  As far as the overcrowding, the BRAC entertained moving other neighborhoods into Oakton during the boundary review so that wasn’t much of an issue then. [/quote]
