She looks SO different than she once did.

That doesn't mean that the tan was fake.  My Italian brother lives in the Southwest and people always think he's Mexican in the summer.  He's got thick black hair and tans very olive.  Sicily was run by the Spaniards for longer than it was run by the Italians, and was also substantially ruled by Moors/North Africans, like Spain.  And Southern Italty isn't that much different from Sicily.  The genetic background is almost identical (except for Northern Spain, which is much more Celtic like the Irish, or Gallic like the French).  
She got so much crap for having a tan and dark hair that now she's overcorrecting with her bleached out look.  She's not a Swede -- she should have dark hair and a tan.  [/quote]
