All of you arguing for cap are missing the one big fact the SW had that same model of only HS teams in place until they realized players were not leaving there clubs like CM to join SW the way they once were. When they woke up to this and tried to make the adjustment it might have been too late CM now has a foot in the door. If capital doesn’t wake up they will have the same thing happen. Pride already tried it but they just did not have the right people in place. It’s just a matter of when not if capital wake up.
Exactly! Not saying cap blue still isn’t the best team for DC talent right now, just saying that the HS only model is outdated and they need to wake up. Also, as pointed out by a cap family here, they don’t actually help in recruiting. If some program, m&d DC or otherwise, starts attracting young talent, develops well, and starts an actual recruiting pipeline, cap will be in trouble. Look how quickly SW fell off, and they started at a much higher place than cap.
My kid played for Capital Blue and the club’s recruiting director was spectacular. Parents of the better players on the team will all say the same. Anyone who says otherwise is either a MD club rep shill or a delusional Cap parent who thought their kid was the next Charlotte North and set unreasonable expectations. Not all players are the same and not all will go top D1.
