Pride already tried it but they just did not have the right people in place. It’s just a matter of when not if capital wake up.
Exactly! Not saying cap blue still isn’t the best team for DC talent right now, just saying that the HS only model is outdated and they need to wake up. Also, as pointed out by a cap family here, they don’t actually help in recruiting. If some program, m&d DC or otherwise, starts attracting young talent, develops well, and starts an actual recruiting pipeline, cap will be in trouble. Look how quickly SW fell off, and they started at a much higher place than cap.
My kid played for Capital Blue and the club’s recruiting director was spectacular. Parents of the better players on the team will all say the same. Anyone who says otherwise is either a MD club rep shill or a delusional Cap parent who thought their kid was the next Charlotte North and set unreasonable expectations. Not all players are the same and not all will go top D1.
MD parents are likely agreeing that Capital is superior to M&D DC.
For the moment but how long that stays true with the current model is the question...
I don’t think MD DC will be the org to do it. The have one good team with the 29s and they will get dismantled next year. Their 30s are ranked 111. No one is leaving teams to join that. Perhaps if BLC were to add a high school division they could give cap a run for their money as they consistently have good teams.
If BLC continued into HS then that would be the death of Capital. BLC is the only club that as been able to retain talent and contend with MD teams below the HS level. Where would the talent come from that feeds into Capital.
Ask Pride 23 and 24 parents if they had to do it all over again what would they have done. Some of the best talent stayed with Pride and the recruiting results were disappointing to say the least. Capital 23s and 24s, on the other hand, landed at some of the best programs. Capital will find their talent, develop and turn them into recruiting successes.

Anonymous wrote:Capital and M&D DC will split the 29 class making both teams average like they were when they were Pride and NL. M&D DC’s recruiting coordinator may make the difference with the addition of more talent. She may be the best HS coach for recruiting in the area.

So basically taking the M&D DC team that can’t beat any of the Baltimore clubs and making them two mediocre teams (for this area)? I actually think this is what will happen.
