I judge people who judge, I guess. I once had a 13 year old 9th grader mock the size of my ring, telling me my husband must not love me. So there’s that. I suppose I think those who judge rings are juvenile. For those of you with big showy diamonds: Many people don’t notice or care. If you’re trying to make some impression, just know that plenty of people never look.
A child noticed. Many people notice.
I’d love to tell that child that the conversation will go into his college recommendation letter and see the priceless reaction.
what a ridiculous thing to say. that would never happen.
What, the recommendation letter? You do realize that very few kids are truly untouchable, and I bet something like this is not an isolated incident. If the kid is not well liked by the teachers, the only thing the counselor in any high achieving school has to do is to be a bit less enthusiastic with the letter relative to the ones for the other 20 comparable kids applying to the same schools. Every year there is handwringing on this boards over seemingly perfect kids being passed over for admission. Some of those kids were a-holes to the teachers and admins, class rank notwithstanding.
