This conversation happens every year. People say that Capital will take a ton of BLC players but it never happens. Players who stay at BLC through 8th grade and expect to make a top club team are always behind when they get there. The BLC program just isn't strong enough. Last year the 2026 BLC goalie wasn't even good enough to make Capital B and nobody turns away a goalie. The 2027 team may be strong this year but it's an outlier.
You can't make any broad statements about BLC because each grad year has been a completely different situation. Prior to 2025, the BLC girls merged with stars in middle school. The 2025s were the 1st year where that didn't happen and they kept their teams in tact through 8th grade. BLC, Stars and Pride are the primary feeders to capital, but how many from each club varies year to year. In the 2027 grad year, stars is by far the weakest team of the 3 and should in turn expect to earn the least number of capital spots. BLC will probably take more spots, but that is specific to that year, not a generality. There probably won't be 1 BLC girl to make capital 2028, because the talent has left already to other maryland or VA teams.
