Your player needs to be better than average if they want to play D1. It doesn’t matter what team your kid is on if they don’t play that well so work on speed, train on own time and don’t rely on the club or your high school to develop your player. 100% spot on.  This is true of all sports!  Your kid and you have to do homework outside of club.  Club's job is to keep the rep going so that college coaches can get lazy and go back to the well.  There's way to many prospects out there to keep tabs on.  And Lax is not like Football where they spend $$$ hiring people to go find prospects.

So think about chasing D1.  For lax, it's expensive and the ROI is not there in terms of $.  Only football and basketball provide full scholarships to players.  D3 schools use sports to recruit college kids. No one is getting full pay in D3 unless you are on the low income bracket for that school.  Use Lax to get into the school you want to cheat the admission queue.
