For the love of God, will someone explain to me why the following words that Jimmy Kimmel uttered got him fired? He did not disparage Charlie Kirk or “celebrate” his death. His broader point is that the Trump administration and MAGA are using Kirk’s killing to score political points. That is a widely held belief on the left and has been voiced by many others in TV, social media, etc. Why force him to apologize to the Kirk family and to make a donation to Turning Point when Kimmel didnt say anything bad about Kirk himself?
 
Kimmel said, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” He suggested the suspect, Tyler Robinson, was aligned with the MAGA movement and criticized Trump supporters for denying this to exploit the tragedy politically. Kimmel also mocked JD Vance’s claims blaming the left and called Trump’s emotional response insincere. [/quote]

DP. What was the lie? That Kirk was killed by a MAGA? The shooter was raised by a MAGA family in a deeply conservative community and state. His personal views, particularly on sexuality and LGBTQ issues, may have changed over the years, but he did come from a MAGA home. [/quote]

Kimmel also didn't say that the kid was MAGA. He said MAGA was using this episode to consolidate power. And MAGA is using this episode to consolidate power.[/quote]

He wasn’t conservative and used his grandfathers gun. Does he even own a gun? Plenty of liberals have maga or conservative parents that own and shoot guns.  Plenty of people own and short guns and even murder people and aren’t maga. [/quote]
