For the love of God, will someone explain to me why the following words that Jimmy Kimmel uttered got him fired? He did not disparage Charlie Kirk or “celebrate” his death. His broader point is that the Trump administration and MAGA are using Kirk’s killing to score political points. That is a widely held belief on the left and has been voiced by many others in TV, social media, etc. Why force him to apologize to the Kirk family and to make a donation to Turning Point when Kimmel didnt say anything bad about Kirk himself?
Kimmel said, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” He suggested the suspect, Tyler Robinson, was aligned with the MAGA movement and criticized Trump supporters for denying this to exploit the tragedy politically. Kimmel also mocked JD Vance’s claims blaming the left and called Trump’s emotional response insincere.
He lied. Again. Wasn’t the first time
DP. What was the lie? That Kirk was killed by a MAGA? The shooter was raised by a MAGA family in a deeply conservative community and state. His personal views, particularly on sexuality and LGBTQ issues, may have changed over the years, but he did come from a MAGA home.
Kimmel also didn't say that the kid was MAGA. He said MAGA was using this episode to consolidate power. And MAGA is using this episode to consolidate power.
Kimmel's comment.
“The MAGA Gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it,” Kimmel said.
Yes, he was strongly implying that Robinson is MAGA, which is beyond ridiculous. - although not worthy of being canceled, just stupid.

He never said the guy was MAGA. He implied he could be.
Please. His statement does say he's maga.
He says he’s one of them. He is.
He’s a white, male, gun, lover, conservative, raised by maga.
But he left his home and was living with a trans woman and was rejecting his parents political beliefs. He stated in text messages sent to his romantic partner that his dad had become more right since Trump was elected and he didn’t agree with his dad. Lots of people here have the same complaints about their parents, people who are democrats and liberals.
Are the dcumers who have republican parents but reject their parents political beliefs MAGA? They are probably white, too.
Lots of gay MAGA in leadership positions. Nick Fuentes is reportedly gay. Lindsey Graham is gay. The shooter is maga. End of story.
Look this narrative change will not change your hunting down and killing all the leftists. You and your kind are going to do that anyway. Anyone who want universal healthcare, pre-k programs or criticize Israel.

The Right is lying, and they know it.
The right controls the media and social networks. Musk is leading the charge to kill all “leftists”. I guess that means anyone with a Tesla and everyone who refuses to buy a Tesla.
Every time a mainstream media figure gets cancelled, independent journalists on Substack get stronger. If the right ever gains control of Substack then we're really screwed.

The right has been screaming cancel culture for years. They’ve been shouting at the top of their lungs that their first amendment rights are being taken. Why? Because someone on twitter said they would stop supporting them.
Now they’re threatening people for actual speech. This is an actual first amendment issue. Where are they now?

In the early 2000s, experts on extremism identified a newly developing type of hate speech they labeled as “political dog whistles”. These dog whistles are meant to activate the unconscious prejudice and hatred within the intended audience without the audience even realizing it is happening to them. The language is coded to seem innocent for plausible deniability and it isn’t even possible for the target to understand what has happened to them. When extremists use these dog whistles, you need someone outside of the intended audience to recognize it, label it, and call it out.
It is no surprise that people on the left don’t understand these dog whistles that were being used. That is the really dangerous thing about these dog whistles in that you cannot even know they are being used on you. But outsiders do understand exactly what is happening here.
Can you please state the exact wording that is a “dog whistle”?
And would you concede that the right uses dog whistles as well?
I can show it to you, but as experts on extremism have noted, dog whistles are coded for plausible deniability. So you won’t even realize that the language is a dog whistle fanning the flames of your unconscious prejudice. So, don’t be bothered if you don’t see it. What Kimmel was signaling to violent fascists was that even if you murder a high profile political opponent in cold blood to silence him, the media will run cover for the cause and blame it on “the other side.” Othering is very important in the coding of dog whistles.
Yes, experts first identified the use of dog whistles on the right.

I mainly watch CNN and read the post and I have not seen anything that indicates he's MAGA and his postings plus romantic relationship indicate that he was anything but. I am truly curious as to where some people on the left are getting the notion that that Robinson was MAGA from.
