"We."  It should have nothing to do with you, sir or madam. It should be what your child wants, and only that, exclusively.

Your job is to assist your child in fulfilling their aspirations.  It doesn't matter a tinker's darn if you want them to play D1, try and play professionally,  or whatever.  If your kid says they want "xyz" then you help them work towards xyz.  This is not YOUR life, nor is it your sport. You are simply a facilitator for something they want in their life. Not at all. I am simply realistic about who is playing the sport at this time.

If you were not the previous poster, perhaps it should not pertain to you, and need to be addressed by you, unless you are part of the has been/never were crew who needs to live their sporting dreams through their child.
