If anything like that happened they decided to just stay silent until he came back or he was found.  It's easy to imagine they should have done something else, I certainly agree they should have done more than they did if they actually knew Gabby was dead before the body was found.  But I can understand how parents might become paralyzed with inaction and silence until their son came back or was found.

They have taken a lot of heat for their silence but I think their reaction is more typical of how most people would react that any other scenario.

I also think that most people are mad at them for raising a son like him, just like Casey Anthony's parents were hated for raising a daughter like her.[/quote]
