Let's look at the club lacrosse in the DMV MadLax--great teams over the past 10 years but their owner has had controversy repeat itself year after year. Black Wolf--very good teams and their owner has had his own controversy. Next Level--New leadership in the past few years and this group is trying to become a serious player in the club lacrosse scene again. DC Express--the new kid on the block that has joined forces with Bethesda Lacrosse Club Blue--on life support Crabs--Baltimore is too far and their owner is another character in the club world VLC--Solid program and seems to do it the right way I'd love to hear comments or more details on any of the above programs.
That's mostly a fair assessment. The biggest trend in recent years is that kids in the Maryland suburbs in the younger years are more often playing in the local club programs (Next Level and BLC/DE), which has made those programs relatively better than they used to be and weakened Madlax and Crabs some because MD suburbs kids who used to go to those clubs aren't going in the younger years in as large of numbers. Still unclear if this trend will push into the high school years. Overall, it would be a stronger club scene I think if there were five solid teams rather than just three and make travel a lot easier for practices.
