MadLax--great teams over the past 10 years but their owner has had controversy repeat itself year after year.
Black Wolf--very good teams and their owner has had his own controversy.
Next Level--New leadership in the past few years and this group is trying to become a serious player in the club lacrosse scene again.
DC Express--the new kid on the block that has joined forces with Bethesda Lacrosse
Club Blue--on life support
Crabs--Baltimore is too far and their owner is another character in the club world
VLC--Solid program and seems to do it the right way
I'd love to hear comments or more details on any of the above programs.

Tryouts are generally in August for the club teams. If you've newly moved to the area, though, you can contact any of the clubs and sometimes they will sometimes add players mid-year. Some clubs also do separate tryouts for summer. Not sure if anyone does a full spring tryout.
Madlax holds tryouts for every season.
Also, has anybody else heard that the Lacos sold the Next Level facility to Martens? How will that affect the club going forward?
The Lacos did not sell their facility. They sold the Next Level lacrosse program to the Mitchells with a lease of the facility for part of the time. The lease to the facility is actually shared between a few different groups who split time on the turf and in the weight room - The Mitchells for lax, Velma Black who runs the field hockey Prgram, the Brit sports guys for little kids soccer, and the guy who runs a training program for the Stoddert travel soccer kids out of the weight room. The Lacos still own the building though. Pretty smart set up for them.

For NCAA sports almost across the board, there are much better opportunities for girls.
Women play NCAA sports, not girls, you neanderthal.
