The testing requirement comes from the No Child Left Behind Act. 2. Congress passed the No Child Left Behind Act years before anybody started work on the Common Core standards. 3. The testing requirement also applies to states that did not adopt the Common Core standards. Getting rid of the Common Core standards won't get rid of the testing.[/quote]
