Lots of pretty words that add up to nothing. You have no solution. And if you do, it's the same that I've been trying to get through to you: it's up to the individual! There is no one size fits all solution. It REALLY pisses me off that whites have created this system of dysfunction in the black race and then you have the gall to get pissed/frustrated that we haven't cleaned up our act. Nevermind that the oppression was govt sanctioned as little as 50 years ago. Are you truly curious about why all blacks don't have their shit together? You think hundreds of years of oppression and generational poverty can be solved in 50 years? By your reasoning, there should be NO underclass white people in the US. Without this country's history of oppression working against them, what could possibly be the excuse for the underachievement?
"It's up to the individual" is a VERY Republican response. funny how Dems are all about the collective and social services - which benefit poor whites and minorities Yet God forbid we should look at groups as a collective. That's just racist. You can't have it both ways. So . . .we either ignore the achievement gap, which views groups as a collective, or we take your advice and say, "Hey! It's up to each individual child to figure out that s/he is reading below grade level" again - You can't have it both ways. Furthermore, I guess you consider whites a collective? After all, ". . . whites have created this system of dysfunction in the black race," right? So again, do we lump all whites into one group, or do we view them as individuals? You can't prove a point b/c you're confused as hell, and you made that clear in your other post when you found that community was too hard to explain. By the way, rural white America can be an ugly place, but I'll say this much. I've known many people - all white - who have donated to poor towns, taught in poor schools, and built homes for people down on their luck. Their efforts were appreciated. can't say this is true in ALL situations where people give back to the community
