Ripping a five year old away from the only family they have known would be horrible for the child and would likely have long lasting impacts. [/quote] Moving her would, undoubtedly, be hard, but kids who face sudden changes in caregivers can recover. Growing up and realizing your parents were kidnappers would be hard too. They also need to think about precedent. International kidnapping isn't something that our court system can reward. Kidnappers can't get the message that if they drag out the custody battle long enough they can keep the child. [/quote]
