It's a bit comical some people come on this board to bash the public schools about not being as competitive with the privates. Then turn around and complain about private school girls transferring. Why do you think the privates have an advantage over publics -- simple, they can accept who they want, players can transfer where they want. In publics unless you have an acception you cannot transfer to another public without sitting out a year. If publics had an open transfer policy they could build just as competitive of teams. Private parents can't have it both ways. Don't come on a board bragging about how good you are then turn around and cry over kids transferring. Those who choose to attend privates need to understand the high school transfer portal means there is no guarantee for your DD. May not be the best look for a coach or school, but you know what you are signing up for.
Good Godfrey - It’s “exception” not “acception”. Also there is no such thing as a “highschool transfer portal” so just knock it off. Your entire premise is stupid. Equating a private school’s ability to choose who they accept and the random lacrosse player switching schools before her very last year is the epitome of a false equivalency. What a crock of bs.
Have to agree with the OP on this one. The point being made is some have come on this site claiming private teams are better, but now come on to complain about the very thing providing private schools an advantage. You are being way too sensitive about the "transfer portal" reference. I'm sure the poster was poking fun. But it is true players can transfer whenever they like. This would not be the first time I have heard of players transferring in their senior year. It will continue to happen. Regarding parents who send their kids to privates early with the hope of earning playing time later -- there is no guaranteed playing time for anyone. The best players should play. Parents and players should realize an outcome could be someone transfers in and takes their spot. Can happen at public or private schools. And because you feel the need to knock others you may want to check your own grammar.
