Trump's love is not about him, but about: 1) Nationalism 2) Isolationism/Protectionism 3) Nativism (the "birthers") 3) WASP-ism (Make America WASP again) Hillary's love is not about her either, it is about: 1) Pro-Globalization: we are citizens of the world, that means (relatively) open borders and (relatively) open economy) 2) Diversity-gay-black-muslim come on board 3) Spiritual but non-religious-ism The Bernie people are not on board with Hillary because they like 2 and 3 about Hillary but not 1. And they like 2 of Trump but not the rest of his agenda. It comes down to what issues you feel most strongly about. I have a good life and globalization has benefited me so I don't feel bad about it; but if your skills are such that your job can be outsourced to China, then I can see why you will feel differently. I feel strongly about the SCOTUS appointmnets and thus will vote accordingly.
this a great summary, and I, too, benefited from globalization in that the multinational high tech company I work for makes $. I'm voting for the least offensive person to my kids, and that would be HRC.
I work for large financial company. Sells to american only consumer. Most of the us citizens have been fired and replaced with cheaper H1Bs. The MBAs that did most of the firing have ALSO been replaced in the last 8 years. We do not hire ordinary college graduates for entry level positions. Company makes over 6 Billion a year, supported by taxpayers. We have tables and tables of Indians that are replaced on a simple notice with other cheaper Indians. TCS, Wipro, Cognizant, Hexaware, Indian H1B body shops. The software is worse and the only thing that keeps the company in place is cheap federal money. Federal government has made the trends WORSE by subsidizing cheap workers to be flown in from India and Mexico to replace local workers.
Cheap federal money without good product in return is bad; company should fail. Workers from India: they are welcome. Why should I get the job and not the guy from India? Just because of an accident of birth? Their need is probably greater anyway.
I'm certainly glad you're not my spouse and the parent of my kids. Will you be giving away your house next?
