So what his kids go to private school. You do what is best for your kids. He used to be my councilmember when I lived in Ward 5. I thought he was great. On the other hand, JLG is my current councilmember. We had a serious issue and she called us back 6 months later. Her constituent services has been non existent. I would also like to understand how all of her "policies" are going to be paid for.

It matters because it’s not just about his kids. The mayor is over DCPS. I want a mayor who is tuned in and truly believes in DCPS. It’s about everyone else’s kids! It’s not good for your kids but we are supposed to believe you will be passionate about making sure it is good for every one else’s kids? No. I want a mayor who is ALL about DC.[/quote]

The mayor will also presumably be passionate about building housing despite never having built a house, be passionate about improving metro despite never working as a transportation engineer, be passionate about creating jobs despite never having built a business, be passionate about reducing crime despite never having graduated from the police academy, and be passionate about being a good steward of the city's finances despite never having worked as a tax collector. I hope you can see how little sense your rant makes now.
