You know sometimes people run errands after the gym or going for a run, right?
I get cold in stores and generally carry a layer with me, especially because I tend to get very chilly after a sweaty workout. And I never wear my sports bras (without a top) anywhere but home or going for a run. But I can't understand being this uptight about seeing a woman in a sports bra at a store. It screams insecurity or jealousy.

They saw a Tiktok that said Spandex wear 24/7 will help them lose inches around their waist. It’s probably related to Kim Kardashians Skims line.
The women dressed like that in Spanx usually aren’t really working out at the gym. It’s a way to show off the body (Kim K wear) and get attention while working out
Who is wearing Skims or Spanx to Whole Foods? That is bizarre. I live in NYC, and have seen people out wearing all kinds of stuff, but never just straight shapewear.
The people I see at Whole Foods in activewear (and I am one of them, frequently stop by on my way home from the gym or a run) are wearing sports bras and leggings from Alo or Lululemon or such. The clothes might be strappy/have cutouts/etc for style purposes, but it’s not shapewear.

We use our savings from the cheap food to buy shirts to put over our bras.
The poor whole paycheck people don't have that option.
