I think this is a good point. The need based thresold is low, we typically think of HHI over 150K not getting AID but this is not the case based on my knowledge at Ivys, someone can correct me if I am wrong.

Also, can someone clarify. If you make too much for need based, couldn't you just have your adult kid be responsible for $$, therefore you should meet the need based easily?[/quote]
