Too bad for Erin. She's a bright young woman who ran a great campaign. I hope she runs again. And Erin, if you're reading this, if you're ever available, call me!
We were intrigued until we found out that toxic ANC 3C commissioner Sauleh Siddiqui was one of her top campaign aides. That was game over for us.
How is he toxic?
Calling your ANC constituents racist is never a good move.
But what if they actually are racist?
Then why are you trying to represent racists? Also, it's one thing to invoke racism over policy when you are arguing about how a potential policy will impact URMs, it's something else to simply claim that people who oppose you are de facto racist. The latter is much more incendiary and you better be ready to bring receipts because otherwise it just looks like cynically playing the race card.
Siddiqui calls people racist who don’t fully support dense, market rate condo development.
LOL no he doesn't
Yup. He testified before the HPRB that his constituents “hid their racism behind a veneer of historic preservation” because they asked for an increased setback and height to be reduced by a floor on a market rate apartment and condo development. Immature and offensive.
