NP. We are very different. I let mine sleep in today when I saw it was an early dismissal. He’s also taking high school courses in middle school. Instead of worrying about missing a day, I saw it as the perfect opportunity to not have to catch the 6:40 bus. He’s not sick. I don’t think this will affect college admissions. I’ve never understood the parents who think school can’t be missed. [/quote]

DP I am an Asian double Ivy grad so… yeah I know. But mental health, spontaneity, and occasional fun are important too!

I know parents who rarely took their kids anywhere (even before Covid) out of a fear of them getting sick and missing school. I mean, you do you but… I’d rather enjoy life a little and take the chance…[/quote]

I’m the poster who let my kid sleep in yesterday. I’m not going to state my race or education because it’s not relevant. My son catches a bus at 6:40 every day. 6:40. So yes, I do not feel any guilt about letting him sleep in yesterday. He checked Schoology and completed his assignments while I was at work. They were done before I got home. I really think I’m modeling balance and responsibility. He still needed to get his work done by a deadline even if he wasn’t physically there. It’s not like he slept in and then did nothing.
