People need to stop claiming, into their own echo chamber, that Youngkin was deliberately not wearing a mask in defiance of a mask requirement at Safeway. This is the Safeway at the Bermuda Triangle of Quaker/King/Braddock next to Bradlee Shopping Center. It looks like a space ship or something out of Star Wars. If you are familiar with Alexandria you know exactly where tis is.

There is NO mask requirement for this grocery store. None. There used to be a sign that asked you to wear a mask if you hadn't been vaccinated, but I don't know if that has been taken down. Regardless, Youngkin has already publicly stated he is vaccinated. He didn't have to wear a mask there. People need to unclench and let go.

I was at two Aldis today, the one on Monroe in Del Ray and the one on Duke near Foxchase.  Both had small signs you could barely see inside that said masks were encouraged if you weren't vaccinated. There is no mask mandate in Alexandria. Businesses I believe can require masks, but most are NOT doing it. Please stop the insanity with just assuming there are mask requirements or that all Alexandrians wear masks.  Screaming at each other, shaming people, it's pitiful.[/quote]

that wasn't the issue and it isn't the issue. People claiming that the Bradless Center Safeway has a mask requirement and that the Governor wasn't abiding by it.  Not whether there was covid in Safeway (FYI in 2022 you should just assume there will be covid anywhere and everywhere).  You twist yourself in knots to find something wrong. I'm sorry you want everyone to be wearing masks in Safeway. Safeway doesn't require it. So you are free to not shop there and go somewhere else that does require shoppers to mask up. You will be hard pressed to find a grocery store in Alexandria that actually does require masks. I know of none.

A little bit of trivia: Albertsons owns Safeway, and it also owns Balduccis. I was at the OT Balduccis a week ago (against my better judgment, their prices are insane), and several of their employees weren't wearing masks, in addition to all the elderly people who shop there.

And as for the 2 Aldis I went to today, I saw several instacart shoppers shopping at both locations, none were wearing masks. Breathing all over your groceries I guess.  [/quote]

Me. Since you're so nosy (and sounds snobby) I needed to buy a bunch of gatorade for several sports teams. You can get an 8 pack for $5 which is almost half the price anywhere else and they have the flavors the kids requested. What's wrong with Aldi?  You're too good for it?[/quote]

Wait a minute; I'm the poster that shops at Aldi to get gatorade.  I still don't understand what is wrong with shopping at Aldi? Why would I leave my shopping carts in the parking lot; that makes zero sense, especially since you need to get the quarter back. Heck yeah I want my quarter.  So let me get this straight: it's ok and perfectly acceptable to make fun of people who are trying to save money as well as jeer and yell at people who are not wearing masks in grocery stores even though masks aren't required. I think there are a lot of not very nice people out there who think slapping on a mask automatically makes them a “good person.”  The true colors always come out though. The same folks were probably nasty about other things before Covid even started. [/quote]

Slapping a mask on for a brief period of time is a small ask and one that a self centered person is incapable of fulfilling. I don't know the heart and soul of mask wearers but those who simply can't be bothered speak loud and clear. [/quote]
It seems like in the Youngkin case, the only person demanding he wear a mask was some crazy lady in the store. Most people don't pay attention to the demands of the mentally unbalanced person shouting at them.
