I posted earlier that I had post-menopausal bleeding that started the day after my second Moderna. Doctor wanted to follow up, so I had an ultrasound and endometrial biopsy, both negative. The doctor did not seem to think the shot had anything to do with it, but he also didn't have any good explanation for why I had a random and heavy period right afterwards. Age 51.
Yeah, I’m one of the prolonged bleeders. (Finally let up after 54 days and an extended course of Provera, now just hoping it goes back to some semblance of normalcy.) It began the day after my first shot. I’ve had two ultrasounds showing no explanation for the bleeding. My doctor has no explanation and I didn’t even mention the vaccine on my second visit because I felt like she was dismissive at my first appointment. For the record, I am happy to be fully vaccinated. I guess that’s one less thing to worry about. This whole experience has just made me realize that, whether we’re talking about vaccines or not, there’s a whole lot about menstruation and women’s health that is just swept away as a mystery that no one cares to try to figure out.
