It's, in theory at least, the last day for us to accept or decline the team offer. With no firm information on how they're handling anything going forward, we're going to decline, and figure things out in the fall. Hope others are doing the same.
I am a PP who has posted re: being unhappy with the lack of communication from bsc. Especially regarding thoughts for refunds or credits for the fall season before receiving invites. But in all transparency i must say that we decided to sign up again this year. DS has soccer at the top of his list of things that make him happy. His energy is significantly high and although we do daily walks, bike rides and play soccer outside- it doesnt seem to be enough. His screen time has unfortunately increased alot. He fights much more with his sister in the last 2 months and temper tantrums are more than normal. Im a a huge believer that mental health is a big issue in these kids and that they don't know how to properly express or deal with it. He's not old enough to practice for long without games or motivation (ulittle age)..my skills are limited. At least with bsc they can hopefully do practices this summer or fall. And when the rec leagues shut down over winter , hopefully the kids will be able to do winter practice again..even if no games which my son loved last year. Winter is a long stretch (4 months) and my son told me that he did not want to lose his skills (ha!). Plus we are getting an amazing coach. Financially we are not rich but have been blessed enough for us to still be working and only had a loss of income for a few weeks but over all good. My other little one cries every day about the virus going away and she wants to get back to swimming. Aside from our mortgages, bills and health, my kids mental health is at the top of my list and if this is what DS enjoys then so be it. But it was a tough decision and i understand that it is a risk.
