I get wanting a refund if you sign up now and fall does not happen, but I also understand a club needing to survive. So where does that leave us? That leaves us reading what they offer and making a decision. Sign up for rec, skip soccer for a season, or sign up for a club and know the fall may look different than what we are used to or worse case scenario, could be an app again. Also not sure why if falls does not happen that would be their fault. They have to follow the dictated guidance. That makes 0 sense to imply they have any control. They clearly want to open and play. Make a choice given the info we have now or don’t and wait and try and sign up later or just don’t sign up. We bear responsibility here too to be informed and take responsibility for our choices. Spring was something no one could predict but we all know fall is a huge risk. I just can’t fault them for trying to survive just like camps aren’t cancelling hanging on to hope that they can open in some form in July and August.

whos saying its in their control? lol. Not a single person.
But to completely ignore the possibilities is bad business. Give reassurances that those that have PAID FOR A SERVICE will get that service.
Paying 3k for league play, tournaments, weekly training ett= when there is no league play, tournaments and weekly training how do you expect to still pay 3k for that?

$300 instead of $400 due at time of team acceptance. This is nothing. The $100 is just spread over other payments.
No charge for using the payment plan.
No new uniforms for next season.
No mention of what will happen if there is no fall season. Just mention of going virtual again.
It's a huge financial commitment for the Techne Futbol app

Hope others are doing the same.

What are other MD-based ECNL clubs doing (Maryland United, Pipeline, etc.)? Is BSC the only club in the area requiring a binding financial commitment now?
MD United already squared away their players with refund/credit amounts, and gave a Jun 1st deadline to respond to accepting a spot on a team. Which makes it even more perplexing as to why BSC is delaying an announcement of refunds/credits, and the rush to respond to offers.
Perplexing = $$$ at the expense of many already strapped parents.
Worse case if no money back, just record the club dues as a charitable donation on your 2020 tax return since BSC is a 501(C)(3) org.
I am not a tax professional, but I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express recently.
