June was relieved because it was one more girl who couldn’t be raised in Gilead.[/quote] It's such a weird contrast because the hospital where OfMatthew is modern/high tech and it's the same when the handmaid's are tested for pregnancy/disease, but the actual birth is so creepy and sacrificial.
