This is exactly why we need to keep the preschool at Reed.  To open up classrooms in NW Arlington and consolidate preschools.  Why is that so hard for people to understand?  Reed would still get a beautiful new school building.  We need more classrooms...instead of wasting money.[/quote]

Are people objecting to putting an APS preschool at Reed, or to keeping the existing, private program there? I don’t see any benefit to consolidating preschools at Reed.  One of the primary benefits of lots of elementary seats there is walkability. Walkability is pretty much lost on preschoolers.[/quote]

Let's see if we moved APS public preschoolers to Reed we could reduce overcrowding at nearby Elementary schools and reduce the number of portable classrooms.  Why do APS employee kids get a beautiful school while APS students get to sit in trailers?  This has never made sense to me.[/quote]

Anyone with elementary-age children should want The Children's School near/in their elementary school. It's reliable childcare for teachers, and having it so nearby to your school gives your teachers with young children a lot more flexibility with their schedules if they don't have to leave as early/arrive as late due to daycare commute.[/quote]
