Good luck.
This is exactly why we need to keep the preschool at Reed. To open up classrooms in NW Arlington and consolidate preschools. Why is that so hard for people to understand? Reed would still get a beautiful new school building. We need more classrooms...instead of wasting money.
Are people objecting to putting an APS preschool at Reed, or to keeping the existing, private program there? I don’t see any benefit to consolidating preschools at Reed. One of the primary benefits of lots of elementary seats there is walkability. Walkability is pretty much lost on preschoolers.
Let's see if we moved APS public preschoolers to Reed we could reduce overcrowding at nearby Elementary schools and reduce the number of portable classrooms. Why do APS employee kids get a beautiful school while APS students get to sit in trailers? This has never made sense to me.
Anyone with elementary-age children should want The Children's School near/in their elementary school. It's reliable childcare for teachers, and having it so nearby to your school gives your teachers with young children a lot more flexibility with their schedules if they don't have to leave as early/arrive as late due to daycare commute.
That’s fine, but it is taking up space that APS can no longer afford. There are other options for its location.

- Why Planning Units that don't even want to go to Tuckahoe should walk across Lee Highway to Tuckahoe.
- Why Planning Units that walk to Nottingham should drive/walk to Tuckahoe.
- Capacity issues at Tuckahoe and why they should stay under-enrolled moving forward.
- Why the Tuckahoe Preschool, K and First classrooms need Bathrooms and Windows when classrooms at Key don't even have bathrooms or windows
- How the bathrooms are overflowing at Tuckahoe
- Why the spring and plaza shouldn't be part of a treasured countywide choice/option program.
- New residential developments that will happen in the next 5-10 years. Unlike other schools in the county that have more new units in a year than Tuckahoe has in a decade.
- Traffic and why a handful of buses will conflict with O'Connell which starts and ends over an hour before Tuckahoe.

Used to be Nottingham, but whatever. Nothing Tuckahoe has said or done is out of line. All above board and transparent. Fortunately, you MONAs aren’t actually in charge. But I agree the personal attacks on PTA officers and Board members (see the same folks on the Reed thread) from you folks needs to stop. Or show your face at a damn meeting and speak your mind.
Wow, you have a lot of grudges going on there.
Yeah. If anyone is upset with Tuckahoe, it's the school they are trying to take all the PUs from: Nottingham. Those folks are mad that Tuckahoe wants to claim Nottingham bldg. as their walk zone.

Seriously - they want to take the 100 walkers that live in the actual Nottingham PU and bus them to Tuckahoe?? Cannot even imagine how they are trying to justify that.
