In other parts of the US, white people mow their own lawns, clean their own houses, etc. We have high incomes here and also pay lower income people more than they could get in other areas. Yes, it costs more to live here, but lower income people are pretty savvy when it comes to knowing how to pinch pennies (like renting a room in an apartment and sharing kitchen, etc.). The lifestyle here is just way different. People have more money, but I often wonder if that money translates into a much higher quality of life.
