Perhaps true for white collar immigrants moving into an area (mainly Asians/South Asians) but really not so for the demographic that OP made reference to ....... because that often represents a run down area or even what might be viewed as a "changing neighborhood". Even liberal whites - actually especially liberal whites - stay the hell away from that sort of area.[/quote]

There is no such thing as local growth for white collar families only. Somebody has to build the houses and fill the low paying jobs provide all the public and private services and retail serving the white collar people and their employers. Slums next to affluent areas do not occur naturally and they are not inherent by ethnicity. They are products of discrimination in housing, employment, and education. OP and others in this thread want more discrimination based on ethnicity. [/quote]
