Does anyone think maybe he just hurt her feelings? Like, she thought he genuinely cared about her (after that phone call - which everyone acknowledges he didn't have to do, including her) and then he turns around and calls her a bitch and takes credit for her fame? Maybe she thought the song itself was going to be funnier/more complimentary to her and she heard it as mean and disrespectful once he started calling her a bitch? Sort of like the difference between laughing with someone and including them in the joke vs. AT them. Or is that too naive to think?
I think this is the case. I think she is legitimately hurt because she really thought he was extending an olive branch to her. And she is genuinely rattled because this was just so...targeted and spiteful. Even smart, savvy people hate to be played for fools. Kanye clearly has some pretty huge issues with her and has from the moment he first met her. To my knowledge she has never done anything to him.
Yes, I do think she was actually hurt and offended. And she had a right to be. But I still think her Grammy speech was wrong when she had told her m on the phone that it was fine for him to think/say he had made her famous, since he hadn't heard of her despite her 7 million album sales. It was wrong, and she just didn't ever think she would get caught in her victimhood lie so neatly. Now it's a pattern, and people are getting tired of it.
I don't know that the Grammy speech was specifically about Kanye although people sure seem to like to make it all about Kanye. If he felt a little stung by it, oh well. Sucks to be "bitch" slapped doesn't it?
