I'm honestly perplexed that there are still people who side with Taylor and give credence to the statement her team issued in a last ditch attempt to inelegantly grasp at straws. Taylor Swift has been in the music industry since she was 14. Over past decade of her illustrious career she has worked with multiple rappers and obviously is intimately familiar with rap music and it's sometimes provocative contents. The video Kim Kardashian released demonstrates that Taylor a. heard the line, " For all my Southside niggas that know me best/I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex," b. understood his claim that he "made her famous" and c. was not offended but in fact flattered by both parts of the song.

There is no part in the video that shows he read her the line, "Why because I made that bitch famous," however, the video DOES show Taylor has heard that line, understands its context in the narrative of Kanye's music and is flattered by it.

So, if she is flattered by him singing that he and she might still have sex and then understands why he would say he made her famous, then why is she supposedly upset by the "bitch" part?

The most offensive parts are the suggestion that she would be receptive to having sex with Kanye and the ubsurd notion that HE made her famous and she enthusiastically signs off on those. The "Bitch" claim is merely grasping at straws.

Maybe those words turned something that could have been funny and tongue in cheek to her into something she heard as mean spirited and disrespectful. I guess what I'm wondering is why people are acting like it's NOT misogynistic and hurtful to call women bitches? Just because it's common place in rap songs doesn't mean it's right or defensible. That's the part I'm not getting.

As a rapper she should have probably known the language that would be used. But I think the issue is her initial victim act was about the famous part which turns out she did know about. So she's know trying to spin it to be about the bitch part. Plus she's made a living writing songs that shamed others and even called out an actress as a whore in a dong. IMO you don't get to call someone a whore in your song and then get upset you were called a bitch. But hey-the truth hurts.

He got her "permission" by pretending to be her friend. He was probably just CYA because he knew that video was going to be way out of line especially in combination with those lyrics.

Taylor pretty much told him that she never would expect him to run the lines of his songs past her. That was Kanye pretending to be a friend to her while covering his own azz. I think he was deliberately deceptive.

As far as her own songs go - they really don't name specific names. People can see themselves in the songs, they may realize that they inspired her to write the songs, they may get attention for being the inspiration for the song but the songs could be about other people too and realistically they are probably about a combination of people/experiences.

Come on, she relishes leaving little easter eggs so people know who the songs are about. Don't be so blinded by swift-ness that you can't see that.

Yes, and I'm sure that if Kanye had laid pretty little easter eggs about her in his song she would have been fine with it. She's a big girl and she knows that's what singer/songwriters do.
