I know people get annoyed when people say things like this, but I can't help it: how is it 2016 an people do not know NOT to flush tampons? Seriously.
+100000
+10000. I mean there are signs in every public bathroom that you go in that tell your not to flush them. Didn't that clue people in?
As a former flusher (stopped over 10 years ago) it's because it says they are flushable ON THE BOX.
Op here- plus, I was taught that they were bio degradable. Well, I'll never flush one again.
Don't flush them. My DW had been the whole time in our current home for 10 years. All of sudden there was a clog at the main line which cause our toilet to overflow. Had to call plumber to clear main line which surprise there was all these old tampons (over 50) and gunk. She learned her lesson. I never laughed so hard when the guy showed me the evidence.
