I recall reading on an MRA site that chicks' bodies can just tell if you are shooting blanks. Their bodies crave a real man's sperm. Because evolutionary psychology. So they'll stop having sex with your non-baby producing waste-of-time semen and seek out the real thing.
Bahahah, you must have read that in GQ or Playboy. That was funny, thanks.
It was a website -- or maybe I merged a couple of blog posts in my head. This is probably one of them that I read: http://marriedmansexlife.com/2010/04/vasectomy-causing-loss-of-wifes-sexual-interest/
I had a c-section, and while there, Dr. tied my tubes. Before this was decided, my DH willingly volunteered to get a vasectomy after baby was born because I was done with the pill. It made me gain weight and decreased my libido. We absolutely agreed on no more kids. After about 4 yrs our sex life got much better. Why? I reduced my stress by working less hours. It was the stress, not the sperm count or lack thereof.
