He lost because his views on foreign policy were out of step with conservatives. It positively freaked them out. This whole "establishment" vs. "outsider" thing is just the latest rationale for two specific candidates. The real reason they are there is because the GOP is fractured and in a race with over a dozen candidate, some outliers are bound to be in it. and btw the DEMOCRATIC (say it correctly please) Party is a centrist party. That is why they are beating you in the general election. It has been a centrist party since Mondale lost and they moved toward the middle. [/quote]
