And, there are tons of people who do the commute every day.  Not everybody can afford to live in Georgetown.  Its a longish commute, but probably no worse than coming into DC from Reston, Woodbridge, or other places people commute from.  And, the public transit options are not bad between MARC, Metro and the Commuter buses.  Its definitely doable.  Like anything in the DC area, it depends on what you want and what you are willing to trade off in order to have the size/type of house and associated lifestyle that intersts YOU - not what other random and annon people on a blog think you should do!![/quote]
