No adolescent comes to a parents' forum to feel validated.  The OP's writing is very good.  Mature, smart, well organized.  Any 14-year-old who is advanced enough to write like this would also be insightful enough to know DCUM is not a safe place to seek validation.  Anyone that smart and sophisticated would be able to Google much more promising resources, such as PFLAG.

What, do you expect the kid to not know how to properly write? OP most likely came to DCUM to see what other parents in the area would think, since their own parent did not seem very accepting. OP knew they were speaking to an adult audience and probably tried to sound mature so we would take them seriously, since their parent obviously did not. Teens seek approval from adults, and OP seems to be looking for that too.[/quote]
