I tip about 10% - a buck or so if I am getting a meal just for me, about $5 if I'm getting an order for the whole family. I figure that teenagers or not, they are working hard and deserve a few extra bucks. I'm surprised to find myself in the minority on this.
+1 I am fortunate that I don't notice that I'm a few bucks lighter at the end of the day. That's not true for many service workers.
+1--I'm more than happy to give a few $$$ for decent "service", even at places where the service provided is relatively minimal. I figure that I'm perhaps buying someone a (small) smile, and consider it money well spent. Every now and then, if I receive particularly good service/help or if an employee/server is particularly helpful, I'll tip 100% of the total. Why not encourage and reward?
