I am fortunate that I don't notice that I'm a few bucks lighter at the end of the day. That's not true for many service workers.

+1--I'm more than happy to give a few $$$ for decent "service", even at places where the service provided is relatively minimal. I figure that I'm perhaps buying someone a (small) smile, and consider it money well spent.

Every now and then, if I receive particularly good service/help or if an employee/server is particularly helpful, I'll tip 100% of the total. Why not encourage and reward?

I usually put a couple of dollars in. I don't think the people at Chipotle are making much.

I tip at the Peruvian Chicken place because they always give me extra sauce when I ask with minimal eye rolling : )

And, because we go there enough that I don't want them to spit in my food.

I drop my coins in the jar at Starbucks, Chipotle, etc. I drop my coins in the slot for charity at McDonalds, Wendy's, etc. Mostly because I am usually struggling with a toddler, and our tray of food, and it's just easier that way.

I leave a few bucks on the table at Boston Market, Noodles & Co, or places where you don't bus your own table.
