Lesson learned here? Don't wait to apply to PK4. Entry point is clearly designed to be PK3
Damnit! You're right! We would not be on the waitlist now if we'd lotteried into PK3 at our IB JKLM last year. Oh wait.
So how many schools did you lottery for? The WotP schools that can't accommodate all IB children for PK are pretty well known, so unless you are new to town you know if you have a good chance or a 50-50 chance or little chance to get in and depending on your chances should have lotteried for other schools (what hopefully have better odds, not equal or worse odds).
You missed the sarcasm.
I didn't miss it at all. I get it. You are IB for an upper NW school that doesn't have PS3. You said you're waitlisted for PK and I was curious to know where else you lotteried since it's widely known that many upper NW schools can't accommodate all their IB families, so unless you have a sibling Already at the school (and even then it's not a guarantee) you likely anticipated possibly being waitlisted. If you don't get in what are you doing next year? Private Preschool?
No sibling at the school yet (ideally this child will help a younger sibling vault the waitlist in a few years). Both kids are currently in daycare. The 4yo can theoretically stay there for another year, but the program is not as structured/focused as actual preschool, and we would vastly prefer to use the public school three blocks from our house.
