To be fair, I find it "astounding" that people here get up in arms over being shut out of PK3 and PK4 when that is a perk not offered for free in the majority of the country. As if it is an entitlement. Another year of daycare or preschool won't kill snowflake. Costs money, yes, but that's how the rest of the country lives.

Damnit! You're right! We would not be on the waitlist now if we'd lotteried into PK3 at our IB JKLM last year.
Oh wait.
So how many schools did you lottery for? The WotP schools that can't accommodate all IB children for PK are pretty well known, so unless you are new to town you know if you have a good chance or a 50-50 chance or little chance to get in and depending on your chances should have lotteried for other schools (what hopefully have better odds, not equal or worse odds).
You missed the sarcasm.
I didn't miss it at all. I get it. You are IB for an upper NW school that doesn't have PS3. You said you're waitlisted for PK and I was curious to know where else you lotteried since it's widely known that many upper NW schools can't accommodate all their IB families, so unless you have a sibling Already at the school (and even then it's not a guarantee) you likely anticipated possibly being waitlisted. If you don't get in what are you doing next year? Private Preschool?

8.9% tax rate. FTW. When they pay that in "the rest of the country" then talk to me.

Anonymous wrote:How many people who were "shut out" only applied for 4 schools or less? I find the median of 4 schools applied to surprising.
why - this makes no senseAnonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Lesson learned here? Don't wait to apply to PK4. Entry point is clearly designed to be PK3

You need to lobby Cheh to go against inertia and make jklm carve out space for PK3.
