I'm a single mom to 3(!!!) kids. I met my fiance at a bar at a girlfriend's going away party. I did the online dating thing and it didn't work for me, so I just gave up looking. Anyway, we met, hit it off, went out a couple times, yada yada yada. But, he initially told me that he preferred dating single moms. He saw my eyes get big, and added it was because he had a child and he didn't like having to deal with people who weren't understanding of the situation. Point being, not everyone who wants to date someone with kids is a sicko, and I'd think a pedophile or weirdo wouldn't make a point of telling someone they want to date someone with kids if their intent was suspect.

OP has an incredibly genuine, and quite frankly commendable, reason to want to date a single mom, and sounds like he'd be gold to a lot of divorced women who haven't found a lot of dating luck with understanding men.
