THe fact that you mentioned your size tells me that you don't understand "yo mama" jokes. You could be a size 2 and the kids might have used the same joke. It sounds like the teacher was trying to diffuse the situation with humor and teach your son some resilience. He was trying to point out the absurdity of the joke to your son by saying the Titanic sank 100 years ago. In other words, "why do you care what they say? Obviously they are being ridiculous." Perhaps it wasn't the best approach, but I don't see anything in your post that seems like the teacher is "encouraging bullying". [/quote]
