Somewhat off-topic: where is your DD attending K that she doesn't start until next week? I thought this past week was the latest any local schools --other than some preschools--started?

In no way am I trying to be snarky or judging you, your DD &/or her school, BTW! I'd generally think this would be self-evident; after all,why on Earth would anyone be snarky or judgemental about something like [b]this[/b]? On DCUM, however, it seems you can never truly be sure :roll: !

I'm just a bit curious,perhaps because, having grown up in the northeast where pretty much all K-12 students went back a day or two after Labor Day every year, it still seems odd to me when school starts anytime else. School in August??? Blasphemy :wink: ! Meanwhile,my college roommate from NC was absolutely shocked when I mentioned that I was used to being in school until at least mid-June. I guess "normal" is relative to what one's used to![/quote]
