Our small co-o has had kids admitted to Sidwell, WES, BS, Redeemer, Concord Hill ... it's the kid, not the school, that gets you in to private.
Having been through the admissions process and having seen many, many friends go through it, and having seen the make-up of the incoming classes at our top private every year, I beg to differ. A child coming from a NCRC or another of the well-known schools has a MUCH higher chance of getting into a top private than a child coming from a lesser known preschool. Just look at where the NCRC kids end up going. Yes, The top preschools include NCRC, St. John's, St. Columba's, CCBC, CCUMC and CCPC. Sure, kids from lesser known preschools sometimes get into good private schools, but the majority come from these top preschools.
