You can buy it back....Prior to the formation of Israel, the jews purchased much of the land on the costal plain; at the partition, jews were 52% of the population defined as Israel. They migrated to the land. Upon Israeli independence, she was attacked on all sides. Many of the Palestinians fled the land as refugees to wait out the war, until the arab nations destroyed Israel. In fact, Israel won the war, and concurred territory. The only land that was "stolen" was that which was vacated at the start of the war.
Please explain to me how the act of you leaving a temporarily hostile environment equals to you giving up all property claims to your house and land. How? Why is it wrong to flee a country gripped by war for the safety of your family until conditions get better? Why does it mean that you have voided all you have? In addition, Israel has made a huge, militarized effort to "help" Palestinians flee, expelling whole villages, sometimes on foot, bringing the total expelled population count to half a million plus. Israeli historians acknowledge that. Many Palestinians also fled the country out of fear of Jewish violence as the paramilitary, government-associated gangs like Irgun were given free rein. I don't understand how you have mentally negotiated yourself into the space that these acts are appropriate or defensible.
